A New Chapter — The Same Commitment to My Clients

Back in November, I made the transition to Engel & Völkers Ottawa. Over the past few months, I’ve taken the time to fully immerse myself in the brokerage and better understand what it truly offers — not just for me as an agent, but more importantly for the clients I serve.

This move was intentional. While Engel & Völkers is known worldwide as a luxury brokerage, what that truly represents is a higher standard of service. Luxury is not defined by the price of a home — it’s defined by the experience. Every client receives the same level of care, attention to detail, and commitment, whether they are buying their first home, selling a long-time family property, or investing in real estate.

With this transition, I’d also like to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

Hello — I’m Dial.

For those who may not know me, I hold an MBA with a specialization in sales and international marketing and had the privilege of a 30-year career in the Canadian Foreign Service, including seven overseas assignments. During that time, I served in a variety of roles including mentor, administrator, consular specialist, Trade Commissioner, and Security and Emergency Response expert. These experiences shaped my approach to problem solving, negotiation, and above all, client service.

Alongside my government career, I have spent more than four decades building, renovating, and managing rental properties. This hands-on experience continues to be one of the greatest assets I bring to my clients today.

Having lived and worked in several countries, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives. I speak multiple languages and understand the importance of building trust and working effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds. This allows me to better advocate for and support every person I work with.

My philosophy in real estate is simple:
to use my experience, knowledge, and skills to help clients achieve their goals in the most effective and positive way possible.

Whether it’s evaluating a property, negotiating on your behalf, or identifying renovation opportunities that add value, I approach every transaction with diligence and care. I want every client to feel confident that their interests come first and that I will never compromise on the time, effort, and attention I dedicate to helping them succeed. In the end, my success is measured by theirs.

Outside of real estate, I lead an active and adventurous life. I enjoy staying fit and am an avid golfer, tennis, pickleball, and ice hockey player. I’m also passionate about motorcycle travel and can often be found exploring the back roads and mountain passes of far-off places.

For many summers, I have volunteered as a motorcycle riding instructor with the Ottawa Safety Council, and have supported causes such as the Government of Canada Charitable Campaign and Soldier On, a charity dedicated to assisting Canadian veterans and injured service members. I’m also always happy to be a resource for fellow agents when it comes to home renovations, maintenance, and property improvement.

Most importantly, I am the proud father of two incredible daughters, both highly successful in their careers and constant sources of inspiration in my life.

This next chapter with Engel & Völkers Ottawa is an exciting one, and I look forward to continuing to serve my clients with an elevated level of care, expertise, and dedication — wherever they may be on their real estate journey.
